Description
It’s common practise to age premium red wine in Oak barrels, just as it is for Whisky – Starward Distillery in Australia decided to take this similarity one step further by aging their Single Malt Whisky in ex Australian Shiraz, Cabernet and Pinot Noir wine barrels. These red wine oak casks impart subtle red fruit, orchard fruit and oak spice notes. The taste is silky smooth, slightly sweet from the oak giving vanilla/caramel notes.
