Description

This is a very limited release of only a few hundred bottles which will certainly appeal to every discerning NZ whisky enthusiast, but will also please any new comer to whisky that likes the use of peat. Using 100% NZ grown malted barley, carefully selected, aromatic peat from the South Island and distilled and aged in mini oak casks from ex bourbon barrels. It is a truly unique whiskey that may well be the first NZ peated whisky that we know of. This is a great representation of where the future of NZ craft whisky production is headed and deserves to be supported. Proudly distilled in hand made copper stills in scenic Riverhead just north of Auckland by Matt Thomson and family. Just like it's stills, this whiskey is very much handmade and proud of it. Go NZ!

Smells

This powerful yet subtle, violet hued whisky is bursting with aromas of sweet vanilla, full spice rack and heathery smoke.

It's rare, well never seen before those peaty, black earth characters is an NZ Whisky underpinned by sweet, spicy vanilla and herbal notes. A persistent palate all the way to the end. Style: Cask and Barrel Aged
