Description
The winery and vineyards were Established in 1978. They sold the brand in 2014 but retained the established vineyards and resource and rebranded. These days they’re renowned for their generous styled Hawkes Bay Chardonnay and very popular Méthode Traditionnelle (Sparkling made in the Champagne method). Their richly textured Marlborough Pinot Gris also has a strong following. Unfortunately, restaurant trade and wine retail have slowed markedly and quality wineries like this are increasingly having to CLEAR surplus wines at bargain prices… at the same time needing to protect their hard-earned brand reputations. We established our “Hidden Label” program around the GFC, to enable high profile wineries with surplus labelled stocks, the opportunity to quickly CLEAR them at discounted prices - the identity of their brand kept “Hidden” until the wine arrives at the customers door. Bursting with peach, pear, ripe red apple, lychee and subtle baking spice aromas.
Tastes
An abundance of stonefruit and pear with a fresh apple edge. It’s richly textured and weighty throughout the palate. Excellent length and balance… its drinking perfectly now. It will pair well with Asian inspired seafood and chicken dishes… and is a perfect wine to relax with at the end of a long/hard days work, whatever you do!
