Church Road Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay is the Reserve’s little brother, similar style, rich and oily but cheaper. And in these economic times and with all the crazy weather events, we need to watch our pennies. At sub $20 this is a top-notch Chardonnay that will keep you happy until the new release of the Reserve graces our shelves.
Smells
A heady mix of peaches and citrus, layered with cashews and hazelnuts.
Tastes
A wine of two halves, toasty, rich yet elegant with a fine acid thread, giving freshness and appeal. Stone fruit and citrus are abundant, while subtle oak provides savoury smoky nuttiness. The texture is perfect, with a long palate length. Ideal with vegetarian meals or white meat and drinking well over the next 2 years or so. The recommended serving temperature is 10-13 degrees.
