The Cassels & Sons family started brewing in the eighties, by mashign and boiling on their wood fire at home. When they began to dream about a bigger brewery than on to of their household fire, they did a quick google on wood fired kettles which came up with a magnificent brewery in Dortmund Germany with a brick kettle – now a museum piece and another one “Cracole” Brewery in Belgium – but that was all – nobody else seemed to be doing it.
