Description
Xaymaca evokes the name given to the island of Jamaica by its first inhabitants, the Arawaks. In crafting this complex, artisanal Rum nectar, Plantation's genius distiller, Alexandre Gabrielle, has revived the quintessential Jamaican-style of 100% pot still rums of the 19th century, with an expression of intense flavours that reveal it's extra-long fermentation (1-3 weeks), it's slow distillation and long barrel aging: Jamaica 1-3 years and 1 year in Ferrand cognac casks in France. Xaymaca is a wow factor blend of rums distilled in the old John Dore pot still at the Long Pond distillery and the Vendome at Clarendon. The legendary pot still, 'Rum Funk': aromas and flavours of black banana and flambéed pineapple, locally called 'Hogo' an Anglicization of the French term "Haut Goût"" (high taste) abound in this golden hued masterclass rum.
Smells
very complex, smoky and meaty aromas underpinned by delicately smoked tropical fruits, vanilla pastries, rose water, allspice and toffee-apple.
Tastes
flavours of caramelised bananas, flambeed pineapple, leading to drying herbal notes, bittersweet oranges and a dash of brown spices. Rum heaven!
