Description
Only producing their Millesime or vintage cuvee in the very best of years, this 2015 Taittinger is crafted from 70% Grand Cru fruit with the balance from Premier Cru fruit, in equal proportions of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The wine is an ethereal expression of power and refinement. A beautifully poised Champagne that displays the quality of the vintage.
Smells
Lemon and lime, peach and apricot, toasted hazelnuts. So much going on.
Tastes
Stonefruit and citrus power through the palate, with hints of cherries popping up here and there. Apples and apricots come along for the ride. Toasted hazelnuts round it off. The mousse is super fine with a nice chalky texture, but the length is the talking point. It never seems to end. Drink now, but would be an interesting evolution through to 2028. Enjoy with kingfish nigiri.
