Description

64% Pinot Noir and 36% Chardonnay fruit (two most used of the three grapes allowed in Champagne) from 100% cool climate Central Otago estate-grown grapes. Quartz Reef is benchmark Otago and Kiwi Méthode Traditionnelle that undergoes 24-months lees aging in bottle. This bestows an abundance of complexity, mouthfeel and finesse giving you a classic, sophisticated bubbles experience. While all non-vintage bubbles contain a predominance of a single vintage, greater than 15% comes from other vintages and reserve aged cuvees, applied to keep flavour consistency in what is widely referred to as the “House Style”. Once you’ve had this great Quartz Reef experience, you can continually repurchase confident in its style and quality consistency. The ageing has been done on lees in the bottle, you buy it to enjoy its youthful vitality. Perfect with shellfish, pan seared white fish, poultry, and white meats. Also perfect by itself.

Smells

Fresh orchard fruits, nutty, creamy biscuit and subtle honey aromas explode from the glass.

Tastes

A delicious and subtle array of Arrowroot biscuit, freshly baked bread, and fine honey tastes from 24-months of ageing on lees in bottle has created a creamy mousse and fine bubbles. Its mineral freshness ensures you can drink it all night long.
