Muscat de Beaumes de Venise is a lightly fortified sweet wine, giving the rich sweet fruit a more elevated and longer platform to shine on the palate. It imparts a sweet sherry-like character adding so much more interest to the wine... like supping a fine liqueur. Chapoutier is one of the world’s greatest wineries and its owner Michele Chapoutier a “winemaking genius” as quoted by the world’s greatest wine critic Robert Parker. The word Beaumes comes from the old French Balmes, which means "caves", Venise comes from the name of the province, Comtat Venaissin.

Honeysuckle, Muscatel, and an array of dried fruits with a lifted floral perfume of orange blossom.

Honeycomb, sultana notes, orange zest, dried fig and apricot abound, infused with floral and rich Sherry tastes. The mouthfeel is rich, viscous, and long with a beautifully warming backplate from the introduced fine spirit, but at only 15% it can be likened to a glass of full-bodied red wine, no need for stress here. Enjoy chilled pre-dinner with a platter of cheese, cured meats, vegetables, dried fruits, and nuts. Or after dinner with a cheese selection. Will keep for 10-years in quality storage, but best enjoyed shortly after purchase.
