The botrytis adds layers of depth, complexity and intrigue whilst allowing the varietal typicity to shine. The whole Fine Wine Team were speechless when we tasted this Tohu Raiha Reserve Noble Riesling. Treat yourself, but rest assured one bottle will never be enough.
Smells
perfumed aromas of Manuka honey, brown sugar, apricots with hints of freshly buttered toast with a sprinkling of fennel seeds. A classic botrytis Riesling bouquet
Tastes
a stunning wine with such a purity of botrytis infection rarely seen, taking the quality and class to another level. The finesse and poise are outstanding, whilst still allowing the voice of the Riesling grapes to be heard, completely enhanced by botrytis, both in harmony, one not outcompeting the other. Fabulously handled and where the wine has focus, drive, and freshness without being cloying. Stellar on every level. Too good not to drink but will cellar 8-10 years+. Serve with cheese
