Description
100% Gewürztraminer grapes were late harvested on 26th May 2022 allowing them time to ripen fully and produce a considerable amount of sugar. The juice was fermented in stainless steel to retain the varietal and fruit characteristics. The ferment was then stopped to retain a residual sugar of 139g/l.
Smells
This wine shows delightful aromas of passionfruit and Turkish delight with lychee, pear, pineapple, and a hint of guava.
Tastes
luscious, dreamy, and creamy, nectar from the gods. Sweet wines really are undervalued yet offer incredible value for money considering the risk and work gone into making them. There is a purity of fruit, it's like eating desiccated Gew berries, rose water, fresh rose petals and lychee flavours run the length of the palate, balanced by the oiliness inherent to the variety. Simply stunning, drinking well now and will age 10 years+. This wine is a perfect match with cheeses and can be enjoyed on its own. Best served slightly chilled.
