Description
Originally released in 1994 to celebrate the 150th birthday of Penfolds, only 1994 bottles were blended and bottled. Fast forward to today, approximately 3000 bottles are produced each release, from a six stage 'Grandfather Solera' with a minimum aged of 30 years. This wine is concentrated powerful and reminiscent of the very old Seppelt Liqueur Tawny Ports.

Light golden brown; arguably the best of all Australian tawnies, with more luscious fruit than Seppelt DP90 (the other contender); luscious it may be, but it is also wonderfully elegant, with rancio and Christmas cake and toffee flavours on the mid-palate, moving to a spicy, dry and ultimately fresh finish." 98 points, James Halliday, 6th October 2016.
