LBV was developed as a high quality more affordable and immediately drinkable alternative to Vintage port to be enjoyed by the glass on everyday occasions. Like Vintage Port the wine is made from one single harvest except Vintage Port is kept in wood for only twenty months prior to bottling. Late Bottled Vintage, as the name suggests, is bottled later, remaining in wood between four and six years. Ramos Pinto is an exceptional example, superb drinking and excellent value for money.

Fresh fruit aromas of red cherry, raspberry, strawberry, hints of pepper with undertones of chocolate, lavender, and cloves.

Mostly Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca (highest quality and most fragrant of the varieties used to make Port), foot trodden (very traditional), has produced a wine of real power, depth, and richness. The fine, long, tightly bound palate has a zesty, peppery zing. The palate delivers all that you want, heavenly with every sip. Bottled unfiltered and with a cork and will age 10 years or so more in a temperature-controlled cellar. Serve with a mature cheddar or Stilton.
