Description
Named after a century-old olive tree nestled in the Clearview Vineyards, the 2021 Old Olive Block continues to impress with its exceptional quality. A standout vintage has yielded a wine of remarkable balance, showcasing impeccable ripeness, power, and texture. Always dependable and still an incredible value compared to its peers, this wine shines brightly in its class. Awarded an impressive 95 points by Bob Campbell, it solidifies its reputation as a top tier offering. With the ability to cellar gracefully for up to 10 years, it’s a smart choice for collectors and enthusiasts alike. Given the stellar vintage and the modest price, securing a 6-pack is a savvy move—stash a few bottles in your cellar to enjoy its evolution over the years.
Smells
A haunting floral note emerges from the glass with a hint of capsicum, followed closely by lifted black and red fruits, cassis, curry powder, cedar and leather.
Tastes
Dense and viscous in the mouth with assertive but fine tannins providing structure to the intense fruit. This is a wine with a big future in the cellar, but very enjoyable now with a piece of rib eye steak. The recommended serving temperature is 16-18 degrees.
