Description
Planted in 1969, Moss Wood is a founding icon of Margaret River, renowned for crafting Cabernet-based wines that rival Bordeaux—often delivering similar quality at a fraction of the price. Amy’s is a masterful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Malbec and Merlot, sourced exclusively from the Glenmore Vineyard. The fruit is hand-picked, hand-sorted, and destemmed, with thrice-daily pump-overs to maximize colour and flavour extraction. Aged for 18 months in seasoned barrels, this meticulous approach results in a wine that is elegant, expressive, and effortlessly refined. Matured for 18 months in seasoned barrels, the results speak for themselves—elegant, expressive, and unmistakably Moss Wood, as well as offering exceptional value.
Smells
An attractively fresh array of mulberry and red-plum aromas with a rose-like floral edge.
Tastes
The palate has a very supple, succulent core of fleshy, sleek tannins that carry bright raspberry and mulberry flavours, fresh and long. Great balance, vibrancy and poise highlighting the class of wines from this region. One sip and you will agree, it could easily be a Bordeaux in the glass. No rush to drink as will easily cellar 10 years+. Made for a piece of prime ribeye. For optimal drinking pleasure, the recommended serving temperature is 16-18 degrees.
