This Globally Famous ‘Cabernet dominant’ wine region is just 15km long and 2km wide. Yalumba ‘The Cigar’ pays homage to its origins. With 172 years and five generations of family ownership, Yalumba remains at the forefront of quality and innovation in Australian winemaking. Sourced from the legendary Menzies Vineyard, established in 1975, ‘The Cigar’ Cabernet Sauvignon exudes the exceptional fruit quality of its terroir. Aged for 18 months in best-quality oak barriques from Yalumba’s own cooperage, the oak is seamlessly integrated, enhancing the wine’s depth and complexity. A beautifully crafted expression of Coonawarra Cabernet—rich, refined, crafted to last… and impressive to the nose and palate!

Tastes

This wine bursts onto the palate with sweet, dark Cabernet fruits… complex herb/spice and dried earth characters emerge through the mid-palate, and it all comes to a delicious crescendo supported by soothing tannins and juicy acidity. Very stylish and composed, a tasty Cabernet best enjoyed with a wide range of meat dishes or a charcoal grilled steak… now through 2030+. The recommended serving temperature is 16-18 degrees.
