Blaye Cotes de Bordeaux, another of these satellite regions that are to look out for, and especially in a top year like 2021. Compelling colour and a wine that opens with airtime, wow!!!! It's a winner, grab as many as you can. For the miniscule price tag, sub $20, this is outrageously good and will cellar 7-8 years+.
Smells
seductive aromas of blackberries, bramble, mint, salted cured meats and creme de cassis.
Tastes
a focused, yet concentrated core of fruit, dictates the palate, building and building with every sip. Flavours of dark berry fruits, dark chocolate, mint, aniseed, and toast vanilla oak inspire the taste buds, supported by the silky, yet hugging tannins and where the length goes on forever and ever.
