Description
The second wine of Fifth Growth Médoc producer, Château Camensac. The property was purchased by the Merlaut family who own the more famous Ch. Gruaud-Larose and Ch.Chasse-Spleen, and have raised the quality of this lesser known producer to new heights. The benefits of these accomplished owners are evident, the welcome surprise is the price – an affordable entry to this Grand Cru Classé estate. A fulsome blend of 87% Merlot and 13% Cabernet Sauvignon from the excellent 2019 vintage.
Smells
Lifted aromas of black cherries, cedar with hints of orange zest.
Tastes
The supple texture and fine tannins support a rich core of dark berries, black pepper, tobacco and spice. The cherry/dark berry fruits and vanilla persist on the beautiful, long finish. Drink Now or until 2035 with Duck à l'Orange.
