Description
One of the most iconic and trusted brands around, Mills Reef have long been producers of Hawkes Bay wines that absolutely everyone can enjoy. Using a combination of French and American oak, they develop layers and layers of character in their wines which you can really see in their classy reserve range. This Reserve Merlot is a fine example of exactly that - it has a classical aspect to it but with a modern twist through sweet dark fruit and a vanillin kiss of oak.
Smells
Doris plum, blackberry and rich warming spices, over a hint of leather.
Tastes
Rich, soft, dark fruit with coffee, chocolate and a creamy mouthfeel. Fine tannins and a juicy finish make for a very moreish glass of wine. One you will keep on reaching back for!
