Description
A wine that has sheer enjoyment from the drinker in front of mind, an easy-drinking style, it is bursting with ripe, upfront red plums, berries, and currants, with a kiss of liquorice and spice that will put a smile on your dial. Taken from the Gimblett Gravels, this Mills Reef Reserve Merlot Malbec will be perfect with lamb or pork dishes between now and 2028.
Smells
A hint of iodine and roast meat pan juices gives a lovely complexity to the abundant plum, cassis, and mulberry notes.
Tastes
Soft and creamy with a sweet chocolate oak note that is just yummy with a capital Y. The exuberant fruit is brought into harmony by the chalky, dusty tannins, giving a slight grip, making the experience even more enjoyable. Completely satisfying and at sub $26, the quality vs price ratio is off the charts. The recommended serving temperature is 16-18 degrees.
