Description
Barton & Guestier, established in 1725, has a long history of crafting exceptional French wines, working with over 200 growers across the top appellations of France. Under the expertise of Chief Winemaker Laurent Prada, they produce wines that reflect the quality and diversity of French winemaking. The Beaujolais-Villages is a step above the standard Beaujolais AOC, which includes the well-known Beaujolais Nouveau. There are 38 designated villages known for their higher quality, and the Beaujolais-Villages label guarantees a better standard of wine. For a modest price increase, you're getting a wine that offers more depth, complexity, and overall quality, making it great value and definitely worth trying if you're exploring the Beaujolais region.
Smell: aromas of baked cherries, blackberries, baking spice and milk chocolate.
Tastes: Vibrant red fruit flavours charm the senses, lashings of red cherries, rosehips, red liquorice, and cranberries dictate the palate and give balance to the robust, chalky tannins. The tannins certainly make an impact giving substance and texture to the palate. A fairly robust style that will match well with lighter red meats and hard cheese. Drinking well now through 2027. The recommended serving temperature is 14-16 degrees.
