Description
A newbie in the Boccantino Core range and what a delight it is, a global hit in fact, that is now available on NZ shores for the first time. And low and behold it comes adorned with a top 98 Points from Italian wine guru Luca Maroni. This is made using the Appassimento method, an ancient Italian tradition of naturally drying the bunches with the resultant raisined grapes producing a greater concentration of flavours and a rich, ripe and luscious wine exuding ripe dark blackberry, brighter blueberry as well as hints of liquorice and cherry. Grab some now before it’s too late..
Smells
a complex bouquet, characterised by intense yet fine aromas extending from mature fruit to spicy notes.
Tastes
this natural drying method brings out the best, heightening flavours of dark plums, blueberries, dark chocolate and lifted hints of red berries and cherries. The opulent fruit erupts on the palate with a generosity that appeases the senses on every level, and where the silky smooth tannins encase the fruit, making the perfect combination. Superb drinking now through 2027 and it pairs perfectly with grilled meat dishes, stew and aged cheeses. For optimal drinking pleasure the recommended serving temperature is 15-17 degrees.
