Description
Stretching along the left bank of the Rhône River across the limestone outcrops of the famously steep and windswept Mount Ventoux, the appellation of Ventoux mirrors the grapes and winemaking of Côtes du Rhône. The quality of this wine has risen exponentially since being purchased by Champagne Louis Roederer 20-years ago, with the excellent 2017 release scoring 90 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate who says "Delas has done a good job with their Ventoux over the years, and the 2017 Ventoux is perhaps their best yet...it's a screaming bargain.” Having just tried the 2021, the Fine Wine Delivery team is sure it is mirroring the character & quality of the 2017 and poised for similar accolades!
Smells
Vibrant aromas of juicy plums, red berries, black pepper and subtle dried herbs.
Tastes
Lusciously covering the palate with vibrant berry & plum fruits, red liquorice, a hint of black pepper, touch of dried herbs and mixed spices. Beautiful velvety tannins, this is a fantastic glass of red, outstanding quality v price for your regular enjoyment! Utterly drinkable now through 2028.
