Description
The Frescobaldi family, with their 700-year winemaking legacy and 30 generations of expertise, are an iconic name in Tuscany. Their Nipozzano Riserva Chianti is a perfect showcase of their commitment to tradition and quality. This wine is 90% Sangiovese, blended with a small percentage of other local varieties, and is aged for 24 months in seasoned oak, imparting a subtle complexity while preserving the vibrant fruit character. The result is a wine that is elegant, refined, and perfectly balanced, with notes of ripe red berries, hints of spice, and a touch of oak on the finish. The 2021 vintage, hailed as an outstanding year, elevates this wine to new heights. It’s vibrant and fresh yet layered and sophisticated, a true delight to pair with classic Tuscan dishes like wild mushroom risotto. This wine truly comes alive with food, embodying the heritage and artistry of the Frescobaldi family.
Smells
An intriguing and delicious nose showing hints of anise, leather, cured meat, sour cherry, sandalwood and sage.
Tastes
medium to full bodied in the mouth, hints of cola, florals, bramble, and cherry fruits through to a fine, finish, with tart summer plum flavours and fine spicy oak. Wonderfully opulent, salivating, chalky tannins that impress and seduce with every sip. A classy drop that will pair perfectly with pasta and red meats between now and 2029. The recommended serving temperature is 16-18 degrees.
