Description
Part of a large cooperative that joined forces in the 1960s to protect the interests of local Chianti growers, Leonardo is now one of the world's most trusted Chianti labels. Always great value for money, 2021 was a very good vintage in Tuscany and this is the best Leonardo we've tasted in who knows how long. Juicy and approachable, it's an amazing food wine for not a lot of dough.
Smells
Bright cherry fruits, blue fruit, oregano and florals jump out of the glass, with a hint of savoury meat and spice.
Tastes
Smooth, full-flavoured, and juicy with good fine, furry tannins mingling with the tart cherry, and berry fruit on the palate. A charming, easy-to-drink Chianti that will come alive with food, this is a spectacular vintage. Enjoy between now and 2025 and the recommended serving temperature is 15-17 degrees.
