Description
Appassite is an ancient farming technique, which may have come about before early winemaking and viticulture practices involving Vitis Vinifera. It consists of leaving the bunches on the plant late in the season, resulting in the evaporation of water, concentrating sugar, acid and flavour, making for a rich, intensely fruited and concentrated style. This raisining process is highlighted in Lu’li, making for a wonderful full-bodied wine that everyone will love. A blend of local grape varieties, Lambrusco, Sangiovese, Primitivo and Montepulciano.
Smells
Wild berries on the nose, red flowers, aromatic herbs, humus, and eucalyptus.
Tastes
the palate is very fruity, well-balanced, and mouth-filling with great persistence. Black liquorice and eucalypt flavours persist. The tannins are silky smooth, but robust enough, giving balance to the exuberant fruit. This will complement most entrees or casseroles, polenta, and aged cheeses.
