Description

On a recent trip to Italy the JK family visited Emilia Romagna and rediscovered LAMBRUSCO, an incredibly versatile wine - slightly sparkling, fresh, easy to drink and perfect both as an aperitivo and with meals. Lambrusco gained a bit of a bad reputation over the years, primarily due to its bulk distribution in the 1970s-80s in America, where it was available only as an overly sweet and cloying wine. But thanks to the work of some incredible local producers, there are now some exquisite examples of Lambrusco on the market, and they think they have hit the jack-pot by meeting this new producer Quarticello. A beautiful sparkling rosato of Lambrusco Salamino. The grapes only spend a night infused with their skins, leaving a light, bright wine that is a beautiful shade of pink. Initially fermented in vat, the wine is transferred to the bottle with a little must for the second fermentation.

Smells

a perfumed bouquet with lifted red fruits, cranberries, wild raspberries with hints of thyme and rosemary.

Tastes

a wonderfully cloudy sparkling wine that sings with flavours of blood orange, earth and bitter herbs. Perfect drinking as an aperitif with cheese or your favourite canapes. The recommended serving temperature is 8-10 degrees.
