Description
The rustic charm of Sangiovese is on full display here in what many critics believe to be the ultimate value in the Tuscan region. Cropped at the same very low rates as the Oreno, the Sangiovese is blended with 10% Merlot for roundness of palate, the vinification being 20 days on skins with punch downs before 10 to 14 months in French oak barrels. A striking and very charming wine, it’s spicy, complex and very food-friendly.
Smells
Lovely floral notes leap from the glass, with dried herbs, minerals and an array of deep berry, plum and cherry.
Tastes
Juicy and full-flavoured with very fine tannins and a silky, complex finish, it’s a wine that’s both pretty and powerful at the same time. No need to cellar, but it certainly will, this wine will be at its best between now and 2024 with your favourite Italian cuisine.
