Description
Crafted by Bodegas Esmeralda, a division of the iconic Catena Zapata. It is certified sustainable, proudly representing Argentina’s first fully sustainable wine initiative. Located in Mendoza’s prestigious Agrelo sub-appellation, Catena Zapata is known for elevating Argentinean Malbec to global acclaim. The Adrianna Vineyard, the jewel in Bodegas Esmeralda’s crown, sits at an impressive 1,530 meters above sea level, making it one of the highest vineyards in the world. This elevation contributes to the wine’s exceptional concentration and balance. The 2023 release is a pure expression of Argentina’s terroir, bursting with rich flavours and refined elegance—proof of the winery’s commitment to quality and innovation. One sip, and you'll understand why Catena Zapata remains a leader on the world stage.
Smells
heady aromas of blueberries, mulberries, blackberries, cranberries and white pepper, with an undercurrent of vanilla, milk chocolate and exotic spice.
Tastes
Those same fruit compote flavours persist on the palate with chalky, cheek gripping tannins balanced by a vibrant acid thread, seamlessly woven throughout. There is a wonderful crunch factor to this wine, making it all the more delicious and drinkable. As any Argentinean would do, serve with the biggest, juiciest steak possible. The recommended serving temperature is 16-18 degrees.
