Description

As with many red wine drinkers across NZ… French Cotes du Rhone is hugely popular at Fine Wine Delivery, it simply walks out the door. And when a wine of this magnificence of value re quality crosses our path, we pounce! Sub $20 it’s Fine Wine Delivery’s French red bargain of this Millennium. A wine with generous fruit thanks to 60% Grenache, yet superbly structured due to 30% Syrah, plus 10% other CDR varieties. One sip and we’re convinced you’ll be back for more. Not only a regular quaffer par excellence… it will fill in nicely as your Saturday special too. Excellent winter and summer drinking through 2025.

Smells

Aromas of strawberry, wild raspberries, kirsch, hints of forest floor, bramble, and spice.

Tastes

A robust well-structured Cotes du Rhone with a core of juicy fruit balanced by chewy gravelly tannins. A complete Ying/yang of fruit to tannin, making this wine even more serious. For the price tag, it warrants a case purchase or more. Drinking well now through 2028 with all red meats, hard cheeses; veal, mushroom and tomato inspired pasta dishes, plus save a glass to enjoy by itself.

We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
