Our Collaboration brand was borne out of thousands of Fine Wine Delivery customers sharing with me their preferences on style… in particular, Chardonnay & Pinot Noir. In 2011, I Collaborated with Tim Turvey at Clearview Estate to blend a buttery, fresh style of Hawkes Bay Chardonnay – It long ago became FWD’s #1 selling Chardonnay and this year we launch our 11th vintage. 2013 to 2015 we collaborated with Matt Dicey at Mt. Difficulty blending a very popular Collaboration Pinot Noir. Unfortunately, due to resource constraints, Matt could not consistently support our Collaboration program, so our Pinot Noir came off the shelves. We’ve explored new partnerships since 2015… but it wasn’t until last year that we found the perfect place and people to recommence our Collaboration Pinot Noir with. The people… the passionate, talented, energetic, fun husband & wife winemaking partnership “Dan & Sarah-Kate Dineen. The place… Maude Wines of Central Otago. This bloody (had to say that to get your attention) fabulous inaugural 2022 Collaboration Pinot Noir has been worth the 7-year wait. It has moreish creaminess, abundant dark fruits, lovely sweet and savoury contrast, zero geeky Pinot funk... it's 100% drinkability... every glass better than the last. The consistency and style of Maude Pinot Noir prompted us to knock on their door in search of a long-term Collaboration partner, the passionate and authentic people that Dan & Sarah-Kate are… made them our perfect choice. They make the wines and when all their blends are close to bottling… they send us samples and we get together for a fun, focused blending session. We taste many different components compiling numerous trial blends in search of a Pinot that perfectly matches our Collaboration style. 2022 was a fabulous vintage… a textbook year to reincarnate Collaboration Pinot Noir. This 2022 perfectly encapsulates my vision to work directly with NZ’s finest winemakers to deliver our customers wines in the style they want with character and consistency… giving them an unrivalled quality v price experience. Collaboration Pinot Noir is our wine, not a Maude wine. Maude makes the blends, our team passionately and carefully compiling the final blend in a style our customers keep asking for.

Intense dark cherry, exotic spices, fragrant mountain thyme, with whisps of wood smoke.

Elegant and very silky on the palate, it showcases the evolution of Central Otago Pinot Noir away from the fruit bombs style… into more complex and balanced wine. The finish is seamless and long, with charry French oak complementing the vibrant dark berry and cherry fruit. Abundant drinkability, each glass better than the last. Gorgeous Central Otago Pinot Noir to enjoy with venison, duck, light game meats, or simply to drink and enjoy, between now and 2027.
