The select parcels for this wine are grown on the famed ancient stony soils of the Martinborough terrace locate at Te Muna, which means ‘secret place’. The grapes are hand-picked and fermented with native vineyard derived yeast before maturation in French oak for 11 months.
Smells
A plethora of brambled fruits and porcini mushrooms lead the bouquet, layered with baking spice notes.
Tastes
With an exciting and vibrant palate, a red-fruited core wraps the velvet tannin with an undeniable depth of flavour—a long road ahead for this wine that will reward with age, through 2029. Serve with mushroom dishes or roast lamb or beef. The recommended serving temperature is 13-15 degrees.
