Greywacke’s 2022 Marlborough Pinot Noir, crafted by Kevin Judd, is a standout release that exemplifies his expertise and dedication to creating wines with character and finesse. This vintage showcases a complex blend of cherry, strawberry, and earthy aromas, with a balanced palate featuring red fruit and fine-grained tannins. Kevin’s approach, emphasising low-yield vineyards and wild yeast fermentation, adds layers of texture and depth, making this wine an elegant expression of Marlborough’s unique terroir. Kevin Judd has the luxury of keeping the wine back until it's ready to drink and this new 2022 is just starting to sing with a full voice.

A wonderfully complex bouquet of dried herbs and whole bunch complexity, combined with perfumed florals, plums, cherries, and star anise.

Super silky and smoky with amazing concentration and a finely grained tannic structure, the finish goes on and on and on... This is an epic glass of wine now but will be much better in 3 to 4 years. Those with cellars should clear a shelf and grab a case. Now to 2030. Perfect with roast meats or platers with cheese and cured meats. The recommended serving temperature is 13-15 degrees.
