Description

Produced exclusively in the finest vintages, Hans Herzog’s Grand Duc Pinot Noir is a pinnacle of winemaking precision and dedication. Yielding just 600 grams per vine, Hans sacrifices quantity for unparalleled quality, ensuring the utmost expression of his vineyard’s potential. Like all Herzog wines, the Grand Duc is wild-fermented, then matured for 24 months in a carefully selected combination of new and seasoned French oak. The result is a majestic Pinot Noir of extraordinary depth, elegance, and complexity. Crafted from the exceptional 2019 vintage—considered one of the finest of the century—this wine is built to age gracefully and will continue to develop beautifully through 2030 and beyond.

Smells

Deeply aromatic with notes of berry compote, vanilla, cherries and exotic spices.

Tastes

Wonderfully silky and elegant, with sweet, juicy cherry fruit and cranberry. Taut acid and fine, ripe tannins make this the perfect candidate for the cellar, or simply enjoy it young after some time in a decanter. The recommended serving temperature is 13-15 degrees.
