Description
Normally exclusive to Cellar Door, Fine Wine Delivery have been given special access to 360 bottles… on the condition we sell it under our Hidden Label program. The winery does not want our competitors to know we have it. They will get demands for supply and it is a boutique Cellar Door only production. Beautifully crafted with 40% Pisa & 60% Gibbston Valley fruit… a ying & yang of generosity and elegance. A judicious 15% whole clusters in the ferment have promoted beautiful aromatics. Its big on flavour with silky soft tannin… skilful winemaking by “NZ Winemaker of the Year” Jen Parr. This is serious, unpretentious Pinot Noir! A deliciously concentrated wine with an abundance of bright red and black fruit set in a wonderful creamy texture. The cherry and raspberry vein is complemented by a hint of umami! Refined tannin and big flavour, brilliant for pairing with platters, smoked salmon and lighter meats. A special no-frills, full-thrills wine from an excellent vintage delivering 150% drinkability!
Smells
Heady aromas of wild red berries, fresh black cherry, violets, red liquorice and baking spice.
Tastes
The palate is awash with juicy, bright red berry and dark cherry fruit threaded by mocha, coffee grinds, sandalwood, and nutmeg spice. Made even more delicious by the silky soft, fine grain tannins and luscious rounded acidity. The balance is sublime, and the drinkability 150%. Simply smashable from go to whoa. Drinking well now through 2029.
