Pommard is a very famous viticultural village south of Beaune, a gorgeous village that is a must-visit. In fact, all of Burgundy is a must-visit if you love Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. A terroir that is steeped in history and top-quality wines. Pommard is found at the southern end of the Cote d’Or and renowned for producing full-bodied, Pinot Noirs with a touch of a masculine nature, bold and with firm tannins. Drouhin has low-yielding vines, use natural yeast and vinification is for 2-3 weeks, resulting in densely compact and structured Pinots, that speak of the true Pommard soils: clay and limestone and its terroir. A village quality wine from the outstanding 2019 vintage, offering a wine that will cellar 7-10years+.

True to the terroir, the tannins give a certain impression of firmness, which are softened and tamed a tad by the plush, harmonious mid-palate texture. Flavours of dark cherries, and black plums, with lifted notes of raspberries and cranberries, dominate on the tongue, giving way to an acid backbone, and extending the palate. Finishing long, and crunchy. Needs time and serve with lamb, beef, or game meats.
