Pyramid Valley Appellation Series, started for the first time in 2018, a collection of appellation specific wines that show a unique stamp of their place and honour the Pyramid Valley philosophy. This 2019 comes from three separate vineyard sites, high lighting the very different terroirs of the Waipara Valley, North Canterbury, all marrying together perfectly.
Smells
dark cherry aromas merge with savoury brown spices, crushed thyme, fresh basil, cedar and a chalky, earthy complexity. A heady perfume that keeps you wondering.
Tastes
A very structured Pinot with plush cherry and cherry stone flavours underpinned by spicey, herbal notes giving freshness and complexity. The tannins are chalky and fine grain, hugging your cheeks giving a salivating texture and a morish quality, leading into the juicy acidity. Harmony in the glass and on the tongue. A delight in every sip. Perfect with gamey meats now through 2026.
