Description
The Envoy range is the premium string to Spy Valley's bow and a chance for the winemakers to push the boundaries on quality and style. This single vineyard Pinot Noir was hand harvested from specially selected rows, showing the greatest ripeness. This was followed by wild fermentation and 19 month French oak barrel maturation. The result is a generously fruited, complex Pinot that is drinking beautifully at 6 years of age.
Smells
Ripe black plum, dark cherry and spice
Tastes
Quite retrained in its youth, with firm tannins, but after decanting for 1-2 hours expected these to soften and open up to show complex dark fruits oak complexity and subtle spice.
