Description

Bleasdale was founded in 1850 and is the oldest winery in Langhorne Creek. I’ve experienced many memorable reds from Langhorne Creek, my first in 1985. Langhorne Creek enjoys a climate of cool, wet winters and warm, dry summers. But the defining influence is the micro-climate resulting from its proximity to the Lower Lakes of the Murray River, and the Southern Ocean. Lake Alexandrina and Lake Albert are just a few kilometres from Langhorne Creek. Massive bodies of fresh water, being almost four times the size of Sydney Harbour, with the Coorong, a 1-kilometre-wide strip of land, separating them from the Southern Ocean. Consequently, the region enjoys a mild, maritime climate with growing conditions 3°C cooler than McLaren Vale, and only half a degree warmer than Coonawarra. Bremerview is a true expression of Langhorne Creek Shiraz, a medium-bodied wine capturing the essence of the region. Bleasdale has been awarded over 60 Champion Trophies & 200 Gold Medals in the past decade… and rated a James Halliday 5 Star winery 10-consecutive years from 2014-2023. That’s serious endorsement behind this sub $30 Shiraz with serious age ability.

Smells

intense lifted dark berry and plum fruit aromas, with baking spices and black pepper.

Tastes

The palate is long and silky with fine tannins embracing juicy plum and blackberry fruits, with subtle clove and black pepper emerging in the persisting finish. Silky-smooth, mouth filling Shiraz. Drinking well now through 2027 – it will enhance any BBQ fivefold.
