Description
This parcel of spectacular premium Shiraz fruit is sourced from a single vineyard site in Vine Vale, the heart of the Barossa Valley. The vines are 21 years old on their own rootstock, with a westerly aspect on sandy loam soil. Tiny yields of 6 tonnes / hectare befitting a prestige Shiraz. This parcel was harvested at 6am in the cool of the morning, to preserve freshness and purity. Very gentle minimal winemaking techniques were used, to capture the essence of the fruit and retain a sense of place. The wine was unfined, lightly filtered prior to bottling. A whole lot of love has been put into the making of this prestige Shiraz, and it shows with every heavenly sip. Confirmed with a Champion Trophy “Barossa Valley Wine of the Year” China International Wine Awards, 9 Gold Medals, 98/100 Winestate & 97/100 Sam Kim. Which is why this revered, highly accoladed Aussie wine label must be “Hidden” to your door at its staggering price… to protect the brand reputation. Smells
Powerful, rich aromas of intense mocha, blackberries with dark earthy spicy, cedary oak.
Tastes
The palate is intensely fruited with lavish blackberries, dark plum, subtle vanilla essences and toasty oak bound by silky smooth tannins. Richness, generosity, plus concentrated lusciousness. The mid palate is creamily textural, and a delicious thread of mocha adds to the seductive finish. Complex & classy, drink anytime but you may want to put a few bottles away for the longer term (2025-2030) as this is prestige Barossa Shiraz… that will only get better with time.
