Description
Over the past 55 years, our family has developed and nurtured a mosaic of vineyards across the Clare Valley, each unique in site, soil, and aspect. Distinct parcels of fruit are selected to make wines that reflect the vineyard from which the grapes are grown. Picked at optimum ripeness from the Watervale vineyard and matured in French oak, this wine shows the elegance and restraint of this cool site.
Smells
A bright wine on the nose, with bramble, purple fruits, spice, and a violet floral trim.
Tastes
A commanding entry on the palate, with concentrated brambles and plums, deep woven spice, pretty floral detailing and a super fine but chewy tannin profile. A long and firm finish gives a moreish nature and makes for a fine food wine which will partner well with sirloin steak. No rush to drink, however, and if you cannot resist, decant just prior to serving or cellar for 5-8years+
