Description
NZ's oldest winery, established in 1851 by French Missionaries, Mission is the birthplace of NZ wine. Jewelstone, is exactly that, the Jewel in the crown of Mission's Syrah vineyard. The fruit is from an organically certified area off their two-hectare, single vineyard Syrah block in the Gimblett Gravels. Aged in French Oak for 12 months, less than 500 cases of this Syrah were made.
Smells
Classic ripe red fruits, spice and floral tones invite you into what is a serious Syrah experience.
Tastes
Ripe plum and sweet berry fruits run deep into the core of the palate. Layered with subtle toast and cocoa elements all supported by beautifully fine tannins. Rose petal florals and savoury characters add complexity to the finish. Enjoy now to 2030 and will pair perfectly with roast lamb or beef.
