Description
Many wines have come and gone, but since 1976, there has always been Koonunga Hill Shiraz Cabernet. A staple in any Aussie wine cellar, it has always represented excellent value for money. In Penfolds' style, it is a multi-regional blend from across SA with big, rich flavours and fine tannin.
Smells
All the red berries, red currants, raspberries, mulberries... A hint of mint and thyme. Very enticing.
Tastes
Again, red berries and balsamic notes give way to chocolate and spice. Tannins are really fine, acidity clean and fresh. Lingers for much longer than a wine of the price should. Really great value for money. Drink now, or cellar until 2029, with BBQ rump steak.
