With over 160 years history behind it, this mature vine Shiraz aged for 22 months in oak is sought after everywhere by people looking for the best bang for buck from the Barossa.
Smells
Brooding nose of blackberry, plum, pencil shavings, liquorice and a delicate woody, floral lift.
Tastes
Voluptuous, chewy, and dense on the palate, the fine coating of tannins frame the layers of black fruit, liquorice, spices, and savoury olive before fresh acid adds juiciness to the fine, dry finish. Great match for slow cooked meats, BBQed fare and by the fire on a winter's night. No hurry either, with drinking through to 2028 for those who need to stock up. For optimal drinking pleasure serve at 16-17 degrees.
