Description
When you drive north out of the Barossa and hit the highway, most travellers think that's where the Barossa ends. But on Barossa’s edge is a sub-region known as the Moppa, where many of the finest Shiraz are made (hence the name Paradox). Fruit off the vineyards that Yalumba these days have access to, used to make selection for the $1,000 Penfolds Grange. Nowadays, they’re core to selection for this amazing value Yalumba Paradox Shiraz. When you combine this level of fruit with the quality of oak barrels crafted in Yalumba’s famed Barossa oak cooperage (only Australian winery with their own cooperage) … it results in blockbuster, benchmark quality v price Aussie Shiraz like Paradox.
Smells
Enticing aromas of dark chocolate, blackberries, plums, mint, tar, toast and liquorice.
Tastes
A wave of opulent berry and plum fruits unfold in a silky palate infused with subtle toast, liquorice, and vanilla spice. Warming cuddly tannins embrace the dark chocolate and fresh raspberry laced finish. Excellent Shiraz that delivers frankly unbelievable value, it will be at its best between now and 2030.
