Description
Potiki meaning ‘last born’ in Māori is blended from a selection of newer plantings on the Martinborough Terrace. More reactive to the vintage conditions than their older vines, but they read the conditions so well, a stunning release, only their third but best yet. Don’t wait as you will kick yourself if you miss out on this beauty.
Smells
Full aromas of yellow skinned peach, buttery French toast and aniseed overwhelm and delight.
Tastes
A rich, oily wine with a creamy texture and salivating, salty acidity portraying purity, freshness and energy that entices and draws you in for another mouthful. This wine encapsulates concentration and power whilst maintaining elegance, it will be impossible to resist. Pureed apple, honeycomb and custard flavours give way to toast and vanilla with a salted lemon skin zest on the long, lingering finish. This will benefit from a couple of years cellaring if you can wait. Made for grilled pork chops.
