Description
It’s virtually unheard of to see Grand Cru White Burgundy released as museum stock—an elusive dream for wine enthusiasts. Yet here lies an extraordinary opportunity: Argentina’s finest Chardonnay, White Bones, offered as a museum release. A wine of this calibre, with 10 years of perfect bottle age, is a rare treasure, presenting a once-in-a-lifetime chance to taste a wine at its peak maturity. The Adrianna Vineyard, perched at an astonishing 5,000 feet in Gualtallary, Tupungato, produces this marvel. White Bones Chardonnay hails from carefully selected rows within Block 1, where the soils are enriched by calcareous deposits, limestone, and fossilized bones—relics of an ancient riverbed. These unique terroir characteristics impart stunning minerality and complexity to the wine, resulting in an exceptional expression of Argentina's viticultural heights. Don't miss the chance to experience this masterpiece, showcasing the harmonious marriage of nature, time, and impeccable winemaking.
Smells
a flinty, stone, chalk bouquet with hints of cooked apple with hints of a dried salty breeze, and pear tartan.
Tastes
perhaps the best release of White Bones to date, simply sensational. The palate has purity, tension and focus with subtle leesy, pithy notes and a citrus, struck match character, all adding to the charm and intense character, leading into a fine, detailed and chiselled finish. This would be at home in a line up of Grand Cru White Burgundy. A lot of the ageing has been done, drinking well now through 2028. Serve with fine white meats. The recommended serving temperature is 10-13 degrees.
