This Master East Coast winemaker has taken his incredibly popular Duck Point Chardonnay to new fruit weight levels with the move to 100% Hawke's Bay fruit. His long-term grower relationships ensure access to great fruit... which he has treated to generous oak and lees stirring to deliver that creamy, lightly toasty character with extra body.
Smells
Soft, mellow aromas of Golden peach, nectarine, subtle citrus, roasted nuts, biscuit, and subtle apricot kernel.
Tastes
Fuller and richer than ever... the palate has stone fruits and ripe, red apples set in a creamy texture with vanilla-tinged butter adding to its uncommon generosity relative to price. A hint of biscuit and roasted nut adds more charm. Enjoy often (easy to do at the price) as a young Chardonnay and it’s perfect with roasted white meats or vegetarian pasta dishes.
