Description
The Esk Valley Winemakers Reserve Chardonnay was possible regarded as the greatest reserve Chardonnay value in NZ. The label has been revamped and is now part of the Great Dirt Series, but rest assured the quality is the still the same. This 2020 Seabed Chardonnay, named to acknowledge the mineral, salty, almost oyster shell characters resulting in wines grown on this vineyard. As always like the Winemakers Reserve this new range is a bargain for prestige drinkers and an affordable aspiration for those with less to spend!
Smells
A beautiful and very complete fragrance with gentle white flowers, vanilla, subtle toast, peaches, gun smoke, brioche toast and nutty oak.
Tastes
Gorgeously rounded and rich throughout the palate, with the perfect infusion of seductive smoky/nutty/spicy oak complexities threading peach/nectarine fruits. A subtle burst of ripe grapefruit freshens the deliciously nutty finish. Enjoy through 2028 with cheese, or white meats.
