Hand-picked fruit from premium vineyard sites at optimum ripeness, this Chardonnay spends 18-months in French oak barriques (20% new). With indigenous yeast fermentation, lees stirring and a complete malolactic fermentation, this is a hand-crafted, superb Chardonnay. What is even more impressive is that this 2016 Museum Release is now 8 year old, and hitting peak drinking time! To enjoy it for this price, is just testament to the exceptional value our premium NZ wines.
Smells
Big, rich nose showing vanilla, peach, nougat and smoky French oak.
Tastes
Rich nectarine, peach and grapefruit characters and pure and intense. Layers of toasted nuts, brioche and hints of custard lead to an incredibly long finish. The purity of the fruits, creamy texture, fine acidity and stunning oak are all in perfect harmony! Enjoy with roast chicken or pork dishes.
